ADLER, FRIEDRICH WILHELM
German bassoon maker who settled in France in 1807. Improved the bassoon in several ways. He changed holes and added keys. The instrument for which he won a prize in 1844 also has a funnel-shaped brass bell-joint.
In 1854 he sold his business to G. SCHUBERT, who soon squandered it away.
